Give us some of your oil

We live in an environment of buy and get, and our life of faith invites another type of dance in our world. God is all over the place and in every cell of our being. Living in faith seeks to notice God’s presence no matter where or how. One way we recognise God’s presence is in the care from good people who really think nothing of being generous. It is simply that they believe in doing what has to be done. When we see such kindness, we know that God is near. In our gospel parable, the plea “give us some of your oil” is negated, simply because we each make our own journey in life with God.
