Stand ready

Some days go by, and weeks with them, and it can be difficult to recall what has been happening. The mystics tell us to respect our rhythms of prayer and moments of quiet space. Allowing time to journal can be helpful too, sitting down with pen in hand and writing a letter to Jesus about the day, week or month that has been, mentioning when we noticed grace and blessing. The parables in Matthew call us to be attentive. Today’s warning is about not being ready. What fascinates me is that it actually requires so few minutes from a full schedule to do so.
