Little children

We each belong to communities of faith, gatherings of Jesus in this land of ours. One of the cherished moments at the Sunday Parish Mass is the blessing of the children. I can’t help but notice that just after communion, some are already in the ‘starting-gates,’ anticipating the invitation to run or sprint forward for a blessing. Jesus honours this in today’s gospel and invites us to recognise children as the teachers of the Kingdom.

Can we bless one another today, cherishing this action of ours as belonging to ‘kingdom work’?
