I am there among them

Our relationships with one another matter. We know when a relationship needs attention and it is often in forgiving or being forgiven that a new pathway for trust and loving is opened. Jesus offers a process for reconciling, and it is his reassurance of his abiding presence that helps all healing. He simply insists on continuing to be with us. We don’t love Jesus in the abstract but among others, and when we need to take the initiative to sort something out, this is another way of expressing our love for Jesus, not just in theory but in practice.
