The Jubilee

Every 50 years was to be a sacred Jubilee of liberation with debt forgiven, and land returned to be leased out anew. While it is doubtful a strict jubilee was ever observed, it shows God’s heart. We are stewards of the earth and its provision, not owners to do whatever we want. Only the creator owns the earth. If we live with that awareness of God’s earth and His people, we will care for the environment and people with respect, generosity, and compassion. Every generation would experience a reset. How might we contribute to a culture of restoration and reset?
