Remembering and worship

God called Israel to rest, refreshment, reconciliation, remembering and celebrating God. Passover remembers deliverance. Unleavened bread remembers that the old life is gone; we embrace something new. First Fruits is thanksgiving for God’s bounty showing that every good thing is from God. Trumpets celebrate worship and salvation. The Atonement restores from sin. The Festival of Shelters is for sacrifice and joyful remembrance of Israel’s rescue from Egypt. Ritual remembering and patterns of feasting and fasting build a rhythm of worship and commitment to God in daily life. How do you remember and celebrate God in your family?
