Why do I do what I do?

We all have a persona, the version of ourselves that we use to engage with the world around us. We are not hypocrites. Having a persona is essential. Day-to-day life would become rather messy if we habitually behaved in a way that reflected our inner state. Hypocrisy develops when we fall in love with our persona. We act insincerely to impress others and receive their approval. It is worth asking ourselves every once in a while why do I do the things that I do? Whose approval am I seeking?
