A mystery

The Eucharist is a mystery that is so great you can never exhaust its meaning. A more profound grasp of it comes, not just from thinking about it, but from participating in it. Like a good marriage, it matures as it is lived. It is a sacrifice. It is a sacred meal. We know by experience it is food for the journey. These days we can't always attend Sunday Mass. This sad circumstance is, oddly enough, an invitation to deepen our understanding of this central mystery of the Catholic faith.
