Rate yourself

Jesus gives a rule of thumb for measuring our proximity to the kingdom. Love God. Love your fellow human beings. How do you fare when you apply this yardstick to yourself? Most of us would have to say we are on the way, but we still have some distance to go. We may not be into too many holocausts and sacrifices, but we have our set of musts and mustn't that preoccupy us. Many of them are laudable, but we are only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal without love.
