Being wise

Today we read a poem about the search for wisdom from the author Ben Sira who lived and wrote around 190 – 180 BC. Wisdom grows within each of us the more we desire her. When we pray for wisdom, little by little we develop the ability to live life with an open ear that listens to the voice that teaches us and a reflective heart that gifts us with insight, right judgment and good sense. We can live many years and become wise or we can simply live many years. May we take time today to reflect on what it means to be wise. Have I sought and prayed for Wisdom? Have I found her?
