Pentecost Sunday

Come Holy Spirit

Acts 2:1-11; Psalm 104;
1 Corinthians 12:3-7,12-13; John 20:19-23

Today we celebrate the day when Christ filled the Church with the power of his Spirit sending its members out into the world to bring his peace, joy and forgiveness to all peoples. The Spirit fills us with understanding, confidence and enthusiasm to carry out Christ’s mission, entrusted to those who received the Holy Spirit at the first Pentecost, and down through the ages to each of us today. Ponder Jesus’ words to each of us “Receive the Holy Spirit. As the Father sent me, so am I sending you. Peace be with you.”
