Do you love me?

Each time Jesus asked Peter, “Do you love me?” Peter answered “Yes, Lord, you know I love you,” while becoming increasingly upset with each time he was asked the question. We can see just how deep Jesus’ love for Peter was, and how Jesus was testing the depth of Peter’s love for him. With each question, Jesus was challenging Peter to glimpse the cost of the love that Jesus called Peter to have – even to his own death on a cross. How do I respond when Jesus asks me “Do you love me?” How ready am I to do what Jesus asks of me?
