Feast of Sts Philip and James, Apostles(F)

1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Psalm 19A; John 14:6.9

Faithful followers

Philip was born at Bethsaida and was initially a follower of John the Baptist before he heard Jesus’ call to follow him. James was the son of Alphaeus. Jesus appeared to James after the resurrection. James belonged to the Church at Jerusalem. He died for his faith in 62AD. Both heard the call of Christ and each gave their lives to the full. Where in my life am I hearing the call of Christ to follow him? Let me take a quiet moment to be with the words, “I am the way, the truth and the life, says the Lord; Philip, (insert your name), whoever sees me sees the Father.”
