Saturday 3 April
EASTER VIGIL
Romans 6:3-11; Psalm 118; Mark 16:1-8
He is not here
Holy Saturday and we go with the women and their spices to care for the body of Jesus at the tomb. Our hearts are heavy with sadness, fear and confusion. We struggle with the mystery of his death, we wrestle with the problem of the stone that blocks the tomb. And when we arrive, the tomb is empty. “He is not here.”
The greeting raises even more uncertainty. Can it be true? Has he really risen, as he said he would? Or do we continue to look for the living among the dead? Let hope come to life in your heart today.
