He died for our sins

The cross is the most universally recognised symbol we know. It is a symbol of God’s forgiveness. It stirs in us an awareness of our human frailty and our need to be forgiven. Contrition, repentance and reparation are our responses to our sinfulness. But forgiveness needs more than that. We have needed Jesus, God’s Son, to die on the cross for us so that we would know God’s forgiveness. Today, let us kneel at the foot of his cross and pray deep in our souls for forgiveness of our sins.
