Secret guilt

Two ‘elders’ testify against Susanna. An innocent is condemned. In recent years we have been fed an epidemic of fake news - news composed in the ‘dark,’ news that distorts truth. We expect certain moral standards of elders and leaders. The Scribes and Pharisees who brought the woman to Jesus were ready and willing to stone her for adultery. But, as Jesus knows, every one of us has acted in shameful – even sinful – ways unknown to others. My dark secret. I hear the freeing words of Jesus: I do not condemn you... Do not sin again.
