Dad’s love

I’m back from the funeral of an eight year old. A child’s death is an experience no one wants or anticipates. A court official personally comes to Jesus asking him to cure his dying son. Jesus can’t resist such faith and trust. The boy recovers. Cause indeed for rejoicing. What might the official tell us of his experience of going to Jesus? Isaiah exults in the future of a “new heaven and a new earth” where there will be joy and no more weeping. Let us keep the vision alive.
