Tables turned

Introducing the Honourable Sir Upright and Mr Truth: two contrasting figures in today’s gospel. We have met individuals who proudly do everything according to the rules, sometimes with contempt for the weaker person who fails to live up to the laws. We do not feel threatened by those who know and admit their limitations and weaknesses. They are authentic human beings, and we can relate to them. Such people are a blessing to others. Jesus is never upset by sinners, only by those who think they are not sinners.
