Unclean! Unclean?

The prophet Elisha heals the foreigner Naaman, a leper. In his hometown synagogue, Jesus solemnly declares that prophets are not accepted by their own people. Though sent to the Jews, he found an openness to his message in people from other cultures and faiths. God has prophets today. They invite us to be inclusive, and welcoming to people who are different. Do I treat anyone like a leper? We are to build bridges, not walls. During 2020, we in New Zealand often heard the message: Be kind! Kindness is a fruit of God’s Spirit.
