What mother doesn’t want the best for her child, and rejoice in any success? In today’s gospel, the mother of James and John wants glory and honour for her sons. Jesus, however, points out that suffering and sacrifice come before glory. Honour is at the end of the path, not the beginning. What is my understanding of glory? Do I do all for the greater glory of God?
