Feeding

Jesus’ main focus here is to fulfil the hunger of the crowd. However, his disciples still show their misunderstanding of Jesus. They still rely on what they possess, a few loaves and two fish, as a tool for the mission. Yet they had told Jesus how successful they were in their mission following his instructions to take no bread or money. Feeding the multitude is another sign to the disciples that Jesus is Lord and food in every situation. His Spirit is the main source of their activity. We are also invited to observe Jesus’ Spirit as his followers.
