Hebrews 10:32-39; Psalm 37; Mark 4:26-34

He knows not how

Only Mark records the parable of the seed’s growth. The emphasis is on the power of the seed to grow of itself without human intervention. Mysteriously it produces blade and ear and full grain. Thus, the Kingdom of God initiated by Jesus in proclaiming the word, develops quietly yet powerfully until it is fully established by him at the final judgement. Do we believe this? Do we really trust that this is true despite the evidence before our own eyes? Our trust is real if we ensure that our words and actions are, in fact, seeds of the Kingdom.
