St Angela Merici (OM)

Hebrews 10:11-18; Psalm 110; Mark 4:1-20

Wisdom through the ages

St Angela has the distinction of being the foundress of the first congregation of teaching sisters in the life of the Church. She founded the Ursuline sisters in the north of Italy in the 16th Century just before the Reformation. Some words attributed to her which she shared with her sisters could help us even today: “If, according to times and needs you should be obliged to make fresh rules and change certain things, do it with prudence and good advice.” Wise words indeed. So simple yet so profound!
