He looked with anger

Sometimes the humanity of Jesus is plain to see. He is far from being a kindly spirit appearing in our midst to speak meekly and mildly. Jesus feels the suffering of those who are abandoned or mistreated. He feels for them intensely. And so, a righteous anger boils up within him, saddened by the obtuseness of those who should know better. There are times when we should be filled with righteous anger – anger on behalf of the suffering - and feel saddened, even distressed, when people dismissively harden their hearts to them. Pray to feel such anger and distress!
