A new teaching – with authority

At first his listeners were astounded by Jesus’ words. They had the ring of truth to them. The power with which he spoke to them was palpable. Yet he offered more than words, no matter how powerful they were. His healing of the possessed man proved the power of his words was real! What his listeners recognised in his words was not just something they imagined. Jesus’ actions spoke even louder than his words. Even if we are not good at speaking or sharing or debating, our actions can still reveal the power of his Word at work within us. Do they?
