The Bread of Life

Quickly we leap ahead to Jesus’ feeding of the five thousand. We could ask ourselves, ‘Why this miracle so soon in the New Year?’ I know I need to be constantly reminded that I am not just reading history when I read the Scriptures. Perhaps you do too? Through his Spirit Jesus is personally teaching us in the Liturgy of the Word each Sunday and miraculously feeding us with himself through the Eucharist. We are connected in a living way to the past. Jesus is alive and at work amongst us now, today! This is our Faith. May this conviction grow ever-stronger in our hearts.
