Song of Songs 2:8-14 or Zephaniah 3:14-18; Psalm 33; Luke 1:39-45

He will renew you in love

All the readings today speak of joy, of excitement, of anticipation. Mary goes “with haste” to share the news of her baby with Elizabeth. Zephaniah declares that when the Lord comes he will renew us in love and sing with joy for us! Jesus is the beloved Son of the Father and of Mary. We look forward with joy and hope to his coming. Though we already know him, this Christmas will give us another opportunity to renew and deepen our relationship with him and surrender trustfully to his loving care for us.
