Our human God

The very real humanness of Jesus is obvious in his exasperation with his critics. It’s as if he is saying, “You can’t win!” John fasted and was criticised, Jesus ate and drank wine and was also criticised! Our human brother Jesus understands how we feel when criticised or misunderstood or even calumniated. How beautiful that our God became totally and painfully human. He is not a distant God! As Isaiah tells us, our peace will flow like a river if we keep close to the Lord above all when we are hurting in any way. Have you experienced this?
