Isaiah 41:13-20; Psalm 145; Matthew 11:11-15

We belong to the Kingdom

Jesus praises John and then astonishingly declares that those who belong to the Kingdom are even greater! John died before Jesus’ death and resurrection and the flowering of the early church. We are among the privileged ones Jesus was talking about who belong to the Kingdom of God here and now and believe that one day we will rejoice in the eternal Kingdom which Jesus promised. However, living as followers of Christ, actively sharing his love and forgiveness to all, is not always easy. Isaiah reminds us that our God will not desert us in this struggle. “Fear not, I will help you”. Do we really believe this?
