Isaiah 40:25-31; Psalm 103; Matthew 11:28-30

I will give you rest

What beautiful and comforting words Jesus speaks to us today! “Come to me…” Whether we are exhausted, bereaved, lonely, disappointed in ourselves or others, depressed, angry or afraid, we are all invited to let Jesus carry our heavy load with us. That does not mean our pain will disappear but that we will find a deeper source of power and comfort in allowing our God to carry our cross with us. “Those who wait for the Lord will renew their strength” says Isaiah. Do we really believe that Jesus will keep his promise to carry our cross with us?
