Unplanned charity

What are the things in my life that stop me seeing the needs of others? Charity towards another person who is suffering ought to be the reflex reaction of those who encounter human suffering anywhere at any time. Reflex-reaction charity is an action proper to being a person made in God’s image. Comfort with my group, my status, my religion, my ethnicity are some of the things that can blind me to another person’s need or suffering. Jesus Christ as King gently shepherds me towards knowing him. In knowing him I ‘know’ another person’s suffering and act to alleviate it.
