Broadening my love

The rich man admires crafty dealings. Yet we know that this is not quite the sort of behaviour expected of a follower of Christ. In the Gospel Jesus sheds light on this sort of behaviour without completely squashing it. Why? As I grow in holiness it is often the grey areas of my behaviour, not the more obvious black and white, right and wrong, areas that need opening up to God’s love. It takes discernment to see the wisdom of doing this and courage to actually do it. The reward can often be a general sort of admiration, if not a love, for people who are different.
