Action

Empathy is more than just thinking to oneself “Thank God that wasn’t me”! It is more a motivation for one not just to ‘have’ but to ‘act’ with compassion towards someone who may have fallen along the way.

The gardener in the parable today is prepared to put some effort into the unproductive fig tree because he knows the tree’s potential. And so it is with God and ourselves.
