Discipleship

Jesus is acutely aware of the cost of discipleship as he sees it in his baptism, but also in those who follow him in the service of the Church.

The path of service in the Church puts the disciple at enmity with the world, especially with its most destructive forces associated with wealth, success and power. Anyone looking for those in the Church are in for a bit of a shock.

So if that’s not what our service to the Church is for, then what is? For the true disciple this question should have a personal and challenging call to it.
