Authentic religion

It can become very easy to wrap religion up in its trappings like nice liturgy, good music, and fine vestments. These are to be valued, but if we neglect the central focus of the Church, Christ and the love and care of neighbour, especially the poor, then we are as hollow and empty as an unmarked tomb.

And if religion places burdens that cannot be tolerated onto people, well, then we have lost the plot.
