Galatians 3:1-5; Response: Benedictus Luke 1:69-75; Luke 11:5-13

Anyone for seconds?

In a past life I used to be a cook at a retreat house. At the beginning of the retreat, those involved made resolutions to have less food, and to my horror a lot of food would be returned to the kitchen on the first night. However, by the end of the retreat the plates were returned almost clean.

The change happened when people became more content with who they were, acknowledging how God graciously responded to their needs during those seven days they had put aside.

In their contentment and joy they regained an appetite for food and life! All of it a gift from God!

And my cooking didn’t get any better during the week!
