A place for the Lord

This rather short Gospel today has a very radical plot. Jesus goes against Jewish cultural norms by being alone with women who are not his relations. They invite him into their house, they serve him, and Jesus responds by teaching them. This was unheard of in Jesus’s time, but he did it.

Perhaps there are areas of our lives where we don’t welcome the Lord. We are asked to take courage, for the Lord is not bound by our or society’s norms. The Lord will make a place for himself where he likes. All he asks of us is, that when he does, we his disciples sit at his feet and listen to his words.
