OUR LADY OF SORROWS (M)

Hebrews 5:7-9; Psalm 31; John 19:25-27

Mary’s suffering

Mary stayed with Jesus at his darkest hour while he was dying on the cross. She stood close enough for Jesus to see and speak to her. As he suffered, she suffered with him. It must have been painful beyond words. But she accepted it. She faced it. Thankfully, the disciple John, Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary of Magdala stood with her. In the joy of the resurrection we can be pleased Mary was finally comforted. Mary, may we have some of your faith and courage when we have to face difficult times in our lives.
