Blessed are you

The mystery of the Beatitudes for me is that even though the depth of their meaning washes over me, I feel consoled by them. Contained in them is recognition that life can be a struggle and Jesus is speaking directly to that suffering. I love the phrase blessed are you. It is warm and caring and reaches out to touch all the suffering in the world, including yours and mine.
