Love is practical

After the big catch, what happened to all the fish? Probably some were eaten and the rest were sold. When Jesus called his disciples, they put down their nets. I like to think that the money from the fish sale went to the disciples’ families. They needed something to live on. While the size of the fish catch impressed Simon, Jesus was also being practical. There are layers to love – both inspiring faith and truth, and also meeting day-to-day needs. You could be practical and do the dishes with love.
