Love reaches out

Jesus performs many healings at Simon’s house, starting with Simon’s mother-in-law. The rest of the town’s ill people arrive after sunset at the end of the Sabbath. Jesus heals the mother-in-law by words and the rest by the laying on of hands. Jesus could have healed through words. As he reached out in love, he wanted to touch them. His touch showed how much he cared for each one of them. Jesus has a soft heart for the sick and the suffering, and invites us to be the same.
