My church

Jesus says, “I will build my church”. This community is established by Jesus – my church. Church (ekklēsia) means 'called out' and in the OT denotes the assembled or called congregation of God’s people. Continuity exists between the followers of Jesus and God’s purposes. This term was also used for civic and political assemblies of citizens. All disciples are called by Jesus to “my church”, an alternative society grounded in the history of God’s people and guidance. All disciples are entrusted with the mission of proclaiming and making present God’s basileia. Prayerfully reflect on my call to God’s mission.
