Core of the Gospel

Some see the parable of the vineyard workers as the very core of the message of the gospel. Prayerfully reflect on why this might be so. How does this parable redefine “what is right”? How does it overturn the expectation of “the first” who look for justice to uphold the status quo? How does Jesus call the community of disciples into a new way of life in which all human beings have equal value? How am I, also a worker of the eleventh hour who is blessed abundantly by God’s grace, pardoned and loved?
