The work of the divine potter

Jeremiah is sent by God to the potter’s house. He sees what the potter does to the imperfect ones. The potter starts again, refashioning the clay into another pot. No need to wonder the point of the direction – God puts it clearly: “As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so you are in mine”! Sometimes I may wish I could start over – well, not a whole new life, but at least a refocusing and a new direction. What refocus do I need? What new direction? Ask God to refashion you – he will use the same clay, the good that you are, but in the reshaping … perhaps that is the new direction I need!
