ST MARTHA (M)

1 John 4:7-16; Psalm 34; John 11:19-27

Faith in Jesus

John reminds us that God has loved us so much – we too should love one another. And love is the very best foundation of any relationship. It enables me to speak the truth, and accept it. In her love for Jesus, Martha speaks directly, “If you had been here, my brother wouldn’t have died”. Their conversation results in Martha’s great act of faith in Jesus – “Yes, I do believe”! My conversations with Jesus encourage me to be honest with him, and deepen my faith.
