Human beings working together

Jeremiah paints a rather grim picture of his local world, and his people. Famine and drought and warfare and death. We’ve had a glimpse of tragedy also – deaths and sickness and accompanying job losses and exacerbated poverty – and drought, too, earlier in the year. Jeremiah turns to God: “Don’t forget us, Lord. You are our hope”! God does work miracles beyond the human ability, but so often the ‘miracles’ occur in the way human beings work together, lift one another’s spirits, stand hand in hand, even notice one another! Have you noticed?
