Teaching in parables

Jesus often used parables to teach. A parable is a story that illustrates a moral or virtuous lesson. We use the message, or messages, of the parable, to compare with the way we act, and so change for the good. Reflection on the story or parable brings insight. It is the action of the Holy Spirit, the life of Jesus in us, guiding us to what Jesus is saying. “Lord, what are you saying to me”? Try one!
