Hosea 11:1-4, 8-9; Psalm 80; Matthew 10:7-15

I love you, regardless

Hosea uses the lovely and touching image of parent and child in describing God’s love for his people. The parent cuddles, holds the child closely, cares for it lovingly. When it is young, the child can’t say “Thank you”. But the parent loves just the same. Jesus reminds his Apostles they might not get much response but to keep teaching and caring all the same. A reminder to us also – sometimes we’ll think we should have been thanked, but on we go, loving and caring all the same!
