Hosea 8:4-7, 11-13; Psalm 115; Matthew 9:32-38

I will help you

Hosea gives us the picture of God expressing desperation at the sins of the people. Jesus, on the other hand, is tired. He’s touring the towns and villages, teaching, healing – and feels sorry for the people who are so harassed and dejected. “Like sheep without a shepherd”, says Jesus to his disciples. Jesus needs helpers! In his care for the people, he’ll appoint Apostles. But he uses us, too – today! How will I help Jesus in his work today?
