ST THOMAS, APOSTLE (F)

Ephesians 2:19-22; Psalm 117; John 20:24-29

Yes, I do believe

Thomas is cast as the ‘doubter’ – but he is asked to believe in the seemingly impossible, and perhaps he is a shade stubborn … “I’ll judge for myself”, he says! Now, in the presence of the Risen Jesus, face to face, he says, “My Lord and my God”! By making the same act of faith, deliberately, slowly, we join Thomas and all the Saints – and all believing people – as citizens of God’s city, country, world.
